I have been teaching English for GCSE, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert, as well as teaching Junior Cert and Leaving Cert French online for the last two years. As well as this, I teach primary school Irish and Ordinary Level Irish for the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams. I also have experience in tutoring EFL students with a low-level of English and helping them to gain confidence in their language skills. I have guided many students towards achieving both higher grades and developing genuine interest in the subjects I teach through my engaging and clear teaching style. I strongly believe that when students are comfortable with their tutor, and when they have a say in what material needs to be studied, they find it easier to actively learn and to absorb the information which they are being taught. My father was a singer-songwriter, my mum plays the violin and I started singing before I could walk. After earning a diploma in Performing Arts in California, I moved to London and lived there for many years before relocating to the beautiful West of Ireland. After moving to London, I started teaching French and English as a Second Language to private students between auditions and performances and completely fell in love with teaching languages. Apart from performing and teaching languages, I really enjoy travelling and have had the chance to visit many countries in Europe and beyond. I have a real passion for the Italian language and love spending time in Florence, one of my favourite cities in the world. Last but not least, I love reading, have an extensive knowledge of French and Irish History, and also adore animals ... cats, dogs, horses... I love them all.

Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Furthermore, as a foreigner who has been through the UK education system, I am able to advise those in similar positions and facing similar challenges. Students learn in different ways, so I will adapt our lessons depending on your preferred learning style. During the introductory lesson, I will ask you questions in order to determine how you study, and your responses will shape the way I plan our future sessions. I will also be interested to know the topics you are struggling the most with, in order to give me a clearer idea of the areas I should focus on. I look forward to hearing from you! All the best, Aurora Qualifications: Msc, Development Economics and Policy at the University of Manchester (September 2023 - September 2024) BA, Economics with French and German at the University of Sheffield (September 2019 - June 2023) : First Class with Distinction in Spoken German A Levels (2016 - 2018): French (A), Italian (A), Chemistry (A), Mathematics (A) GCSEs (2014 - 2016): English Language (A), Chemistry (A), Physics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Biology (A*), Mathematics (A*), French (A*), German (A*), Italian (A*), ICT (A*), Religious Studies (A*), English Literature (A*). History

Hello! :) My name is Cécile and I am twenty-four years of age. In 2021, I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with a Bachelors Degree in Drama and I am currently midway through my Insurance chartership. I will have my CII accreditation by February 2026. I currently work full-time as an Insurance Consultant but the highlight of my week, is supporting students on their academic journeys! :) I have been delivering high-quality teaching in both, face to face and virtual settings, for almost five years. I have operating as a freelance tutor on the GoStudent platform, since January 2022. On the 4th of January 2024, I received my 500th lesson certificate from GoStudent and since January 2022, I have delivered over 800 lessons on this platform, alone. Throughout this time, I have encouraged an array of students who vary in different strengths and abilities, to succeed/reach their goals! I teach the following subjects: Drama, English, History and French. Drama and English are both taught from, Primary through to Degree level. History is taught from GCSE through to As/A-Level. French is taught from Primary through to GCSE standard. I also teach French to individuals who are looking to learn the language, from scratch. I possess dual nationality - I am half French and half English. I also conduct lessons providing coursework and exam help. I love keeping active, listening to music/podcasts, playing with my cat and helping others succeed, is the icing on top of the cake! If I can help someone achieve their goals, then that is a day well spent :) I possess almost five years of tutoring experience and that includes both, face to face as well as online. In 2016, I passed and achieved thirteen GCSE's, nine of which vary from B - A* grades. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2018, I passed and achieved three A-Levels in Drama, History and Biology. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2021, I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Drama including a First Class for my Dissertation. - De Montfort University, Leicester. In 2024, I started my Cert CII and I am aiming to have my full Chartership in Insurance, by February 2026. Throughout my degree: I received a First Class Honors for my 'Education and the Performing Arts' module which has proven fruitful with tutoring. This consolidated my understanding of the performing arts education policy, pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment in a time of educational, economic, technological and social change. It also allowed me to construct innovative ways towards lesson exploration including within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) sector. I can confidently say that I have explored the place of the performing arts in the evolving English education system and in the early years, informal, community and therapy settings. My degree allowed me to submerse myself into various fields of education and resultantly, have the right exposure towards assisting students within the following categories: - EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage/s). - SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). - Primary Education. - Secondary Education. - Mature learning.

**TSH** I work as a TSH due to my years of experience as a teacher and my ability to empathise with students of all ages, including primary school students. My strength lies in the Sciences to GCSE level; especially Biology which I can teach to A Level. I can make the student feel at ease and motivate them to learn more. I break down content which enables students to feel in control of their learning and responsible for it. I adapt to students needs and manipulate my teaching style to empower and engage the student. This makes the sessions fun and knowledgeable. Hi everyone! My name is Chloé Lusandu. I was born in Paris France and grew up on London UK. I speak French and English fluently. I Graduated with Honours in Biomedical Science in 2018. Since then, I have been teaching Advanced Biology in English to students who are learning English as a second language. It been a great experience learning from students while they learn from me! In my free time I enjoy reading, playing sports, learning new languages. I have recently been starting to learn Arabic, its quiet fun, but challenging pronouncing the letters. I also really love animals, some of my free time is spent entertaining my cat. I also play the piano (not very well :D), but it is something I learnt by myself and practiced in high school. The sports I have been enjoying lately are solo sports like roller skating, going to the gym in the mornings, swimming. However, I also like playing team sports. I was on a few sport teams when I was younger, like rounders and netball. I also spend a lot of my time catching up with family and friends, either on the phone/video call or watching something through Netflix party. Tutoring wise I am confident that I can support your learning in the sciences till GCSE at any age group. Subjects I specialize in till A Levels would be Biology. Whatever support you would require, whether that be content reviewing, help with your homework, or prepping for assignments/exams, or just improving your confidence in a subject I am here to support you! ** TS Hero ** GCSE: Biology A-Level: Biology Exam board exp: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, BTEC Level 2 Experience with: KS1 / KS2 / KS3 / 11+ / Home Schooling till GCSE in Science. Hi, Bonjour ! Je m'appelle Chloé (my name is Chloé) and I am a French native speaker :) As travelling and getting to know new cultures and languages is a real passion of mine, I am very excited to share my own; French culture and language. I myself had to learn a language that is not my native language (English) so I definitely know how challenging it is for my students to learn a new language. Therefore I can particularly help my students to overcome the fears they can have to learn a new language and truly put myself in their shoes. As it worked for me, I like to give lively interactive lessons using images or videos to optimise memory and focus. I also encourage my student to speak as much as possible, as I believe it is the best way to learn any language : 'PARLER, PARLER, PARLER'. I am the most experienced in giving lessons from Primary to GCSE level. I also have some experience in teaching A Levels and most particularly with adult learners and travellers. I have experience in private French and Art lessons with children aged 6 to 15. My interests include: travelling : I travelled and lived in over 11 countries and got to know very diverse cultures all over the world. Teaching Art : I have an Art and design BTEC and studied a BA at the university of the Arts of London (UAL) and currently studying at les beaux arts of Paris and have been a practicing artist ever since. I cam teach Art and Design GCSE students, particularly to give feedback on their portfolio. I am the most experienced in giving lessons from Primary to GCSE level. I also have some experience in teaching A Levels and most particularly with adult learners and travellers. I look forward to meet you, to work with you and helping with your studies! Merci beaucoup et a bientôt ! I've been living and studying in France most of my life until the age of 17 where I've moved to the UK to carry on my education in English. There I got the ESOL Entry 2 (NQF) and the IELTS ( grade 6.5) followed by the BTEC in Art & Design (equivalent to the bacalaureat) and then moved forward to a Fine art BA at UAL. Currently, I am in my third year of BA at Les beaux Arts of Paris ; where the French literary level is very high and sustained. In other words, I'll be very comfortable in both language to give you the clearest French lessons and to support you all along throughout the learning path you're taking!

Jin exceeded our expectations! We are new to Go Student so we didn't know what it would be like. Our kids chose Jin based on his profile and he has been a great math tutor for the last month. He really listens & understands where where each of our kids is at. He communicates well & checks for understanding. He shares information well & is flexible when needed. We're definitely sticking with it. Well worth our money! Thanks Jin!

Our experience with GoStudent has been wonderful, especially at the beginning when we were looking for an online tutor. For me I felt their focus was not money but what they could achieve with the child academically. We were paired with an amazing tutor, Sophie. She is patient and wonderful with my daughter, and helps her understand subjects she previously felt confused about.

The benefits of French tutoring

French tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence

One of the biggest difficulties with learning a language is a heavy reliance on the teacher. While apps have made self-learning more accessible in recent years, they cannot correct written work the way a teacher can or replicate the experience of having a conversation with a native speaker.

Large classroom scenarios don’t allow teachers to give every child the individual attention they need to work on problem areas either.

A French tutor, by contrast, can offer additional help and practice tailored to individual strengths and weaknesses.

At GoStudent, our French tutors make the most of the interactive digital whiteboard and introduce games and fun topics to make the sessions as enjoyable as possible.

French tuition is not just about teaching course content. It’s about supporting your child, boosting their self-esteem, and tailoring lessons according to their needs. This leads to improved understanding and better exam performance.

The advantages of studying French

Learning French or any other language takes perseverance but is linked to improved memory and cognitive skills. It is even thought to lower the risk of developing dementia later in life. French lessons do more than keep the brain active, however: they are the gateway to travelling or working abroad.

If your child does well in their primary school French lessons and continues into secondary school and degree level, they will have access to many job opportunities. These could include doing a ski season in Quebec (Canada) or even working for the United Nations in Geneva. It may be that your child has no desire to travel but end up working at a French multinational in the UK. In a global world, speaking French pays off.

Careers related to French include:

  • Teacher
  • International relations
  • Journalist
  • Translator/interpreter
  • Bilingual customer support
  • Cultural events coordinator
  • Travel agent
  • Immigration officer
  • Foreign diplomat

French exam preparation and French revision classes

French exams test skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Many students find reading the easiest of the four areas as there are words that French and English share that are easier to spot on paper due to differences in pronunciation. Writing them down or pronouncing the words correctly can be a lot harder, however.

Spaced repetition is critical for French revision. Your child needs to keep up with their schoolwork and practise regularly outside of lessons so vocabulary, grammar and their accent become natural and ingrained in long-term memory.

This is how practical French tutoring works at GoStudent

No matter what level your child is at, we will have a French tutor who will work to meet their specific goals. Do they want to just pass their French exam or would they like excel as they intend to study it further?

Our French tutors can provide additional revision materials and offer advice on how to study for the different components of the exams. This boosts confidence and leads to better results.
